And she's off!
Reid loves her sister's scooter so much, too much really and I got tired of having to break up their fights over it. Easy solution: order an identical one. I'll give Reid two weeks and she'll be flying around as fast as Harper. Funny thing about my "easy solution" was that this morning, while the scooters were both inside, Harper found a ribbon to tie around hers. As soon as Reid saw the ribbon, she wanted a ribbon too and tried to yank Harper's ribbon off. Harper starts screaming, Reid starts screaming and it goes on like that until I cut the ribbon in half, which starts a brand new wave of screaming from Harper over the cut ribbon. Calgon, take me away ...
We are 2/2 on girls with their own fashion sense.
It's still barely gotten above 40 degrees but it's technically Spring so Reid went ahead with today's outfit: a summer dress, sandals, mittens and a winter hat. I no longer fight them on clothes which results in some very interesting outfits on a daily basis.

Harper's quote of the day
From last week:
"Mommy, if you had 10 little girls, you would be the happiest mommy, wouldn't you? (pause) But would you have to make them all dinner?"
Yes, Harper and therein lies the problem.

Pretending it's spring
We won't let freezing temps keep our spring fever away! Harper scooted as I walked a half mile to her friend's house today for a play date.

Playing with the magnatiles at school.
She and Harper both LOVE these toys. Though I'm sure as soon as I spent the money on them and brought them home, they'd no longer be interested. Isn't that how it usually works?

Harper's quote of the day.
Last week, she told me, "Mom, William told me that he wants to marry me. All the boys at school want to marry me." (insert exasperated sigh here.) We are in for it with her!
Transitions!
Reid started school last week, she's going two full days per week. Harper is also transitioning to two full days and one half day, as opposed to three half days. All of these changes are an effort related to my transition back to working full-time (or very close to full-time), which will happen this summer. I'm a little nervous, of course, but mostly excited to get back to my career. My office space will be very close to their school and my hours will be flexible. I feel like I'll be able to enjoy the best of both worlds. Reid and Harper will be at the Montessori school together in the fall, but for now Reid is going to a school that has a classroom for younger kids. She is doing great! They give me a little "report card" at the end of each day. So sweet!
