Ice cream hat

When you're in the fourth percentile for weight and the doctor has given instructions to fatten you up, you get to eat an ice cream cone a few times a week.  Harper decided that her ice cream cone made a good hat tonight.  She asked me, "wear ice cream hat?" and then put it on her head, over and over, again.  I just had to snap a picture.  And regarding the second ice cream cone on her high chair tray- there was one left in the package and she saw it and threw a fit for it!! So I took the empty cone and let her have it.  Saved a lot of tears.

Our little hiker

Harper loves hiking, which couldn't make me (and Oscar) happier.  She insists on walking, even when we are on steep hills and I am letting her do as much as she wants.  We just got her a pair of hiking shoes, I was shocked to see that they made toddler sized hiking boots.  She loves looking at the plants, trees and collecting pine cones.

Enjoying some avocado-chocolate mousse

doesn't seems to get any less messy the more often she eats it.

Race day

Andy ran in a 5K near our house this morning and Harper and I walked down to the finish line to cheer him on.  Andy had quite the running performance, as usual,  taking first place in his age bracket (30-39) and sixth overall.  Harper was very curious about Daddy "running the race" and she repeated that phrase over and over during the 1.5 mile walk to meet him.  On our walk back home, Harper insisted on "running the race" herself and was screaming "Watch out people!" as she ran.  Needless to say she was in bed for the night at 6:15.

Harper quotes

As Harper speaks in sentences more and more, she is coming out with some pretty funny things.  Here are a few from the last two days.

"Mommy, I'm amazing!" (do you think I told her that a few times??)
"Good job,  honey!" (to our nanny, when they were coloring at her easel, I think this was another case of Harper imitating Mommy)
"Play peekaboo with the shirt?" (she asked me this question when I was folding laundry)

Tuesday at the playground

This afternoon we met Miles and Rebecca at the playground to get some fresh air and exercise.  Rebecca is now full-term with her second son, we can wait for Miles' little brother to join us at the playground too.
