First Rockies game

While Andy's parents were here, we tried to take the girls to their first baseball game of the season, however, the weather forecast took a horrible turn during the time between buying the tickets and showing up at the game.  Harper had a blast despite the cold, she was obsessed with the team mascot, a dinosaur, and had a great time dancing to the music.  All of the noise was a bit much for Reid, poor girl cried out every time the fans cheered.

Reid & Rylan

Harper's buddy Dalila got a baby brother right before she got her baby sister.  We've gotten the 4 kids together a few times.  It is very nice that Reid gets to have play dates too.

Speaking of school, we are very fortunate that a charter (publicly-funded, privately-run), Waldorf-inspired school for Pre-K through 8th grade is opening in the fall literally two miles from our house.  The Waldorf approach to learning places a big emphasis on imagination and developing both an analytic and creative approach to problem-solving.   I have already put in a call to get Harper on the waiting list for Fall 2012, or enrolled for Fall 2011 if that is possible. Waldorf has always been our preferred option for Harper and if it's free, even better! (more savings for college!)

Harper's school assessment

Harper's school now uses an online tool to let us read about the progress she is making in various areas.  She is thriving at school, I am so impressed with the new skills she comes home with on a regular basis.  Here is a sample from a recent assessment.  Andy and I had to laugh at the part where she told her teacher, "I just told you...".  That's our feisty girl

Notes:
Harper woke up during nap, walked up to me
 and with a smile said,
"my Mommy will come get me after snack."
I asked her if her mommy said that to
her when she dropped her off. She said,
" No, my daddy dropped me off."
I then asked if Daddy was picking her up today?
She said,"I just told you, my Mommy
is picking me up after snack."
It was a very pleasant give and take
conversation between the two of us.

Harper's new favorite song.

If she were 7 or 8, we probably wouldn't find this song so entertaining but since she's 2, it's okay.  And no, we didn't teach it to her! Not sure where she learned it.
