Happy girl

Our big-eyed baby

The littlest gardener is back!

It has been absurdly warm (and dry) here in Colorado so we have already started our garden.  We direct-seeded beets, carrots, bok choy, lettuce and kale last weekend and will start spinach and peas tomorrow.  Harper is also growing her own basil indoors since it is one of her favorite foods; she would pretty much eat an entire basil plant in one sitting if I let her.  Harper is thrilled to be back out in the garden and she is on the hunt for worms as we turn over and add compost to the beds.

Harper's quote of the day

and apparently, her blossoming view on gender roles:
"Someday I'm going to be a mommy and have lots to do.  And then I'm going to be a daddy and live in the big, tall buildings."

More smiles from our 7 week old

Harper and her buddy Miles sharing some grapes at the playground.

The weather here has been absolutely, bizarrely gorgeous (close to 80 today!!) so we have been spending as much time as possible outside and have met up with our friends at the playground a few times.  Harper and Miles have been hanging out since they were 6 months old.  He is definitely one of her best buds and it is great to see that they actually "play" with each other now instead of just playing near each other.

Gymnastics class!

Harper has been enjoying her new gymnastics class, especially the foam pit. Though I will admit she won't be winning any awards for her ability to follow directions although I have noticed that it doesn't seem to be a skill any of her fellow 2 year old gymnasts have.

goofy crooked smile

Smiles are hard to come by with our rather cranky girl, so I'm learning to take whatever I can get.

Harper's quote of the week

As we parked at Harper's favorite grocery store, Whole Foods, Harper spotted a GMC Yukon parked next to us and said:
"That's a gas guzzler. We don't like gas guzzlers, do we mommy?"
me: "No, we like gas sippers."
H: "But Daddy likes gas guzzlers, that's what he told me."

Andy, of course, vehemently denies this.

Our sweet girl

Harper is growing into such a sweet, kind, funny kid.  It is a joy to watch her and be a part of her life.
