Lounging in Aunt Laura's chair

Cuddling with Aunt Amy

Resting in Anna's swing

"Anna" is the name that Noah decided Grandma Messier should be called when he was about 1. We don't know why, but he is the oldest grandchild and the name stuck. So Grandma & Grandpa Messier are "Anna" and "Papa."

Luca - sitting still long enough for a picture!

Playing with her cousins in CT

On our holiday trip to Connecticut, Harper got to spend a lot of time getting to know her cousins, my sister's boys, Noah, age 3 and Luca, 16 months. They both adored her. Noah was a great help keeping her entertained and could even hold her when he was sitting on the floor. Luca is rather obsessed with babies and would run at her, chanting "baby, baby" and want to hug her, kiss her and poke her in the eye. Constant supervision was required when Luca and Harper would "play" together. Harper changed a lot during our almost 2 1/2 week trip. Most notably, she found her voice - a consequence of her new-found competition, I'm sure. She now screams, coos and squeals.

She's growing hair!

Harper's Baptism - 12.28.08

Harper was baptized in the church Andy and I were married in, St. Francis of Assisi, on Sunday December 28. It was a joyous occasion though Harper fussed throughout the entire sacrament - a rare display from our typically content baby!
